"Taqtir" (dripping) was a one time improvised performative installation interlacing movement and sound creating alongisde Charlene Galea and Daphne Sammut. Curated by Justine Balzan Demajo, the performance captured the unpredictable nature of fluidity, transparency of water and its movement. The word TAQTIR (dripping) evokes this sensation of the ephemeral, or the lack of it, that embodies water. The live performance was a visceral reaction to the constant flux of the movers which mimics the continual change of water.
Just like the undirected flow of water, Charlene’s body and mine demonstrated spontaneous movements, raw, rootless verging on primitive and spiritual as they moved in a trance like state. Sound artist Daphne Sammut was also an integral part of this performance. Whereby the sound followed the movement, allowing the flow of the performers to change the mood and atmosphere of the sonic aspects.Photographs depicting this imagery were also be exhibited within the space.
